The Support Operations Division provides the citizens of Pima County with unique response capabilities through specially trained deputies and high-tech equipment.  The Division consists of the Border Crime Section, the Tactical Response Section and the Special Operations Section.  Support Operations duties include enforcing traffic laws and reducing vehicle collisions with state-of-the-art Honda motorcycles, conducting search and rescue missions and interdiction actions against illegal border activity in the rural deserts using 4 X 4 and all-terrain vehicles, deploying the armored BEAR and BEAR-CAT vehicles for large-scale tactical SWAT operations, and supporting patrol operations with the HT-295 Helio Courier aircraft, to name just a few.  The Support Operations Division gives the Pima County Sheriff’s Department these and other specialized capabilities to meet the law enforcement challenges of the 21st century.
