March 3, 2009
On March 3, 2009, at approximately 12:50 a.m., the Pima County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 phone call from the Department of Public Safety in reference to one of their officers being flagged down. According to information received, an African American male was found deceased by a passerby walking to the Circle K early this morning. When the passerby walked up to the victim, he discovered the victim was deceased and flagged down a DPS officer who was in the area.
Pima County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit detectives responded to further investigate. The victim identified as Allen Fredrick Charles, (DOB 09/20/85), suffered obvious trauma to his body. It appears Mr. Charles may have been homeless; however, he has family in Michigan.
Detectives have no motive for the murder at this time. Anyone with information regarding events leading up to the homicide are asked to contact 911 or 88-CRIME.
