On April 9, 2009, at approximately 10:30 p.m., deputies from the San Xavier District responded to an unknown problem with shots fired in the 7100 blk. of South Hildreth Avenue.  Upon arrival, deputies found Ana Delia Rios (DOB 03/03/64), and Martin Rios Gonzalez (DOB 05/24/63) deceased from gunshot wounds.  

According to family members inside the residence, the two were verbally arguing in the bedroom when they heard shots fired from the area of the bathroom/bedroom.  The family ran out of the residence and went to a neighbor’s house where they called 911.  

An investigation revealed that Ms. Rios and Mr. Gonzalez had been divorced for approximately one year, however, they still resided together in the same home.  Pima County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit detectives have determined that Martin Rios Gonzalez first shot his ex-wife, Ana Delia Rios, before turning the gun upon himself.
