The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is grateful to the response of the Tucson Police Department in their quick response and substantial investigative efforts in the reported shooting involving Corrections Sergeant Eric Abbott on April 7, 2009.  The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has learned that the incident as reported by the Sergeant was not accurate.  

Corrections Sergeant Abbott has submitted his resignation effective today.  That resignation has been accepted by the Sheriff.
