On December 31, 2008, at approximately 3:00pm, a man reported his girlfriend as possibly lost on Mt. Lemmon. According to the man, he and his girlfriend, Karen Norris (DOB 12/22/56), went camping on Wednesday. Yesterday at approximately 12:00pm, the two left the Palisades area near milepost 9. The man told deputies he lost sight of Ms. Norris prior to reaching their destination near the Prison Camp area near milepost 7.
Pima County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue is currently searching for the lost hiker. They are being assisted by DPS Ranger as well as the Southern Arizona Rescue Association.
