On January 1, 2009, at approximately 9:20pm, deputies from the Foothills District responded to the 2200 block of West Orange Grove Road in reference to reports of shots fired. Deputies searched the area and found a deceased male on the ground in the parking lot of a medical complex. The male appeared to have died from obvious signs of trauma.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit responded to further investigate. At this time, the name of the victim is not being released pending positive identification and next of kin notification. Autopsy is scheduled for January 2, 2009.
