On Saturday, January 3, 2009, the Pima County Sheriff's Department responded to the 4400 block of E. Benson Highway reference a domestic violence incident.  Upon contact, deputies discovered that one of the involved parties, Ana Claudia Vaca (DOB 07/26/75), had an outstanding warrant.  Ms. Vaca was transported to the Pima County Adult Detention Center.  On Sunday, January 4, 2009, at approximately 2:06pm, deputies from the San Xavier District responded to an unknown problem at the same address.  Ms. Vaca had covered herself with gasoline and ignited herself on fire when her boyfriend arrived at the residence.  Ms. Vaca sustained severe burns and was transported to the Maricopa County Burn Center.  The boyfriend received burns to his arms and a leg.  Two neighbors received minor burns and/or smoke inhalation.

The investigation is ongoing.
