District Geography
Geographically, the Rincon District primarily encompasses Northeastern Pima County, including Mt. Lemmon, Sabino Canyon, and other Coronado National Forest areas. It runs as far south as the Santa Cruz County line, to include Corona de Tucson, Vail, New Tucson, and the surrounding rural areas. The Rincon District covers 1155.49 square miles with an estimated population of 90,317. The district is divided into four geographical sections called “Beats.”
Beat One:
A rural area which runs approximately from Escalante Road south to the Santa Cruz County line and from Kolb Road east to the Cochise County line. There are 570.73 square miles in Beat One with an estimated population of 15,200.

Beat Two:
Covers the area from Sabino Creek east to the Coronado National Forest, and north from the 5600 block (Bear Canyon Trailhead) south to Escalante Road. Beat Two zigzags with the City of Tucson (TPD’s jurisdiction) along Tanque Verde Road. There are 116.44 square miles in Beat Two with an estimated population of 29,512.

The southern boundary of Beat Three zigzags with the City of Tucson (TPD's jurisdiction). There are 36.22 square miles in Beat Three with an estimated population of 45,330.
